LILA* was established in Liverpool in 2004 as an independent English language academy. Founded by two sisters, Leanne Linacre and Victoria Lee. Leanne and Victoria started their careers teaching overseas, upon their return to the UK they felt that there was a need for more quality language schools in the north of England and Liverpool was the perfect choice. We think (and our students agree!) that LILA* Liverpool is a great place to learn English. Our vision has contributed to the growth of our school and our loyal students continue recommending us as the best school to study at in the UK.

Our school is located in Charing Cross a safe and quiet area of the city. We are close to the University of Glasgow and a 10 minute walk to the vibrant West End and the City Centre. Students love both our old school buildings which are architecturally and historically important, as well as it’s convenient location. Glasgow has the nickname ‘The Friendly City’ and is loved for its culture, museums, music, nightlife and shopping, but most of all for its people. If you travel for 45 minutes east you reach Edinburgh, if you travel 45 minutes west, you reach The Highlands.

Offering up a course for our 10 to 11 year olds, Bexhill is the perfect place for younger learners to spend their time over the summer. Much smaller than our other course towns (with a population of under 40 thousand), there is a small town feeling that allows younger studentsto thrive without feeling overwhelmed. Bexhill is a quaint old coastal town with plenty of green spaces, a long pebble beach and an abundance of Edwardian and Victorian architecture. While the students will spend the majority of their time in Bexhill, they will still take excursions to nearby cities, and see a lot of the attractions that Hastings has to offer.

Students will study at Bournemouth University, Talbot Campus. The campus is where you will find the main university facilities, such as The Sir Michael Cobham Library, the Student Centre and SportBU - a fully equipped sports centre and gym. There are also a range of cafés, restaurants and the Students' Union-run Dylan’s Kitchen & Bar where you can unwind with friends and enjoy some downtime, as well as other social spaces such as the Atrium Art Gallery and Balcony, Student Hall and a large outdoor courtyard.

Two miles north of Brighton city centre and the seafront, Moulsecoomb Campus is the largest of the five University of Brighton campuses, with more than 8,000 students. The Moulsecoomb campus is split over four buildings: Cockcroft, Watts, Mithras House and Huxley.

While our students will have a chance to explore Bristol’s eclectic city centre, the location of our campus is also a real bonus. Situated on the outskirts of Bristol, the campus allows easy access to some great excursions’ destinations. Conveniently located for a visit to Stonehenge, the Roman city of Bath or even to the seaside.

To visit the real England, head to Hastings! One of the sunniest towns in the UK, a population under 100,000, great beaches, and just over an hour from London, Hastings is a fantastic introduction to the UK for language students. LSC has a long history in the Hastings; we have been hosting students here for well over 50 years! So whether you are looking for a great first taste of the UK, or are looking for that classic language trip feeling. In contrast to Hastings' historic charm, English lessons take place in brand new Sussex Coast College facilities.

A traditional English programme on the beautiful British island of Jersey just off the coast of France, which starts with two nights in wonderful Paris. Students enjoy hotel accommodation (breakfast included) and a guided tour of the city and a trip to Disneyland. After making memories for life in one of the world’s most magical cities, students make the short journey to Jersey, and a little corner of Britain, right next to France. Once on Jersey, things just get better: wonderful scenery and an activity schedule suited to those who like adventures and thrills. Jersey proudly claims to be the warmest place in Britain, and its relatively small size gives it a welcoming and cosy atmosphere; a perfect island for students to spend the summer.

Located in a quiet residential suburb on the University of East London’s Docklands campus, this campus offers views of the iconic London skyline while being right next to the river Thames. The accommodation lies right on the shores of the Royal Albert Dock and is situated by the Port of London, formerly the world’s largest port. Just a short ride on the DLR rail brings you into the heart of the city, making it easy for excursions to any of London’s famous sites. The Docklands campus was London’s first new university building to be built in over half a century, and it really shows with the modern feel and facilities.

Located just 9km from central London, Greenwich with its rich maritime history is a fantastic place for anyone to visit and explore. Famed for giving its name to the Greenwich Meridian and Greenwich Mean Time, it is home to the National Maritime Museum and the Cutty Sark, as well as the stunning University of Greenwich. First founded in 1890, the University of Greenwich is one of the UK’s most dynamic and improving institutions.
